Friday Facts

We had a great trip to Kansas City this week. The highlight had to be Alice and myself on the Kiss Cam at the Royals game on Monday night. They have a brand new 100' tall HD scoreboard in the outfield and the Coffmans smooched on it for all to see. Fun, fun!

This Sunday is our last class on Faith in the Gospels for this quarter. I'll post a brief description of the final classes (picking up where I left off) sometime next week.

College football has begun! I didn't get to see much of last night's games due to our Praise Team rehearsal, but I will camp out on the couch tomorrow for my fair share. OSU plays Washington State at 2:30. I can't wait!

I'm excited to have my new cell phone. And not just because it is black and orange...
We're in the process of coordinating a redesign of our church website this fall. We're also in the process of creating a Workshop 2009 Promo video. Look for both soon!

It looks like my Labor Day will consist of...well, labor. We need to do some cleaning, repairing, and organizing on the home front. How about yours?

We did A LOT of cleaning and organizing and moving things out of here today. In fact, I have more things for your wife! hee hee (organizing from my house...to yours)
Tomorrow will consist of me doing more cleaning WHILE watching and listening to football all day. But tomorrow night, my friends come into town and let the laughter begin. It will be a GREAT weekend! I cannot wait!

Did you see the end of the Stanford-Oregon State game? Down 36-28, the Or. St. receiver, tried to reach to get the ball across the goal line, but instead he fumbled it through the endzone for a touchback. I think 1st and goal at the 1 leads to a TD about 97.5% of the time, so that was a big mistake. Oh well, at least he was trying hard to make a play.

As for upset picks this week, I've heard people saying East Carolina over Va. Tech, and some have even been bold enough to suggest Virginia over USC or Utah over Michigan... I think two of those three are possible, but I doubt USC loses even though having a new QB could be shaky at first. I remember that East Carolina gave Va. Tech a game last year, and this time the game is in Charlotte.

OSU is a 6-pt. favorite over Washington St. Hopefully they play well. TU is about a 2 TD favorite over UAB, so hopefully they can hold serve too.

JD, I'm nowhere near cool enough to have an iPhone.

I used to have a Blackberry at my previous job...well, back then it was actually a blueberry. But the phone high life was too much for me.

And I kind of like the old orange carpet that's still in the balcony.

Just ask Brenda.

Go OSU!

Oh, I wish I'd seen you on the kiss cam! That's too funny! Glad you had fun! I got a new phone, too. Mine's red! :-)

JD~
This is why Shane spends so much time up in the balcony! It's the ugliest color of orange! Yes...OSU orange! But he feels at home there. Sadly, he has to come down to reality every week with the real people because no one in their right mind is going to go up there.
I have to be wearing red if I am up there. It just doesn't work any other way!

But I have to say that I'm totally proud of his sis!!! Gettin the red phone!! Gotta love that girl! ;o)

I hate to break it to you, Brenda, but my sis's phone would be Husker red.

It's not orange!!! That's all that matters in my book. Besides...she's still pretty cool in my book!

Thanks, Brenda! :-) Shane's right though. GO HUSKERS!!!

Shane,
I am glad you had a great trip brother. My two oldest boys have to go to school on labor day. Can you believe it? Crazy. Parents are really upset about not having a 3 day weekend with their families this year. The school board is going to be changing the calendar next year that is for sure.
I plan on trying to relax, enjoy time with my wife and youngest, Quinn. I think we will have some good one on one time. Special day with dad and mom.
I hope you have a great labor day weekend.

Hey....as long as it's not orange....any RED is okay ;o)
