For His Name Alone is High

Let them praises give Jehovah
For His name alone is high

I've sung that chorus for years.

And I've always interpreted that phrase to mean that Jehovah is the only true God, and His name is to be highly praised and exalted.

But, I gained a deeper perspective this week.

We all know His pinkie finger (if He had one...) is stronger than all of mankind's strength put together. As well, His foolishness (if He had any...) is wiser than all of mankind's wisdom put together.

In the same way, His name alone...merely His name...something as seemingly inconsequential as the word we use to refer to Him...is high. It is to be revered, respected, and repeated in praise.

Something as simple as His name.

His name.

Jehovah.

Imagine how exalted and holy and perfect the rest of Him must be.
