The cat is out of the bag...

Well, Zorro may still be in the bag, but my news is out as of today.

Alice and I will be moving to Tulsa in late June, where I will be the new Worship Minister at the Memorial Drive Church of Christ.

This is a dream opportunity for me. My road to this position really began when I was a small child that was part of a family that loved to sing. It developed at the Southwest Church of Christ in Omaha, Nebraska from 1985 to 1992, at the Stillwater Church of Christ from 1992 to 1996, and most significantly at the Quail Springs Church of Christ in Oklahoma City from 1997 to this day. I've interviewed at a couple of other churches in the past 3 years, but for one reason or another they were not the right place. Today God has granted the desire of my heart to serve Him in a full time role, and off to Tulsa we go.

We will be leaving behind a great deal. The friends we have made in OKC will be missed. I can't even begin to name them all here, so I won't start. I've worked with some talented people and been a part of some special construction projects at Smith & Pickel. It's been a great ride, but now it's time to move on to where God is calling me.

I look forward to working with the Memorial Drive team. The elders and staff are a wonderful, talented, and friendly bunch. I've always been a Terry Rush fan, so that makes it all the more special.

I still haven't been able to get my brain around all of this, so I'm just processing it a bit at a time. We're trying to get the house on the market here in the next day or two. I imagine it will hit me pretty hard when I start to see some action on that front. For now, it's just been "clean, clean, clean".

God has blessed me beyond belief.

We're gonna miss you guys. Tulsa is a lot closer than Dallas or KC... so that's good for us; we get to visit! We're really happy for you both and know that this is a God-blessed opportunity for you. I know that God will use you both for Him in this new place.
