I visited a Rheumatologist today. My second round of blood tests came back negative, so they've ruled out Lyme Disease, Lupus, Gout, and Rheumatic Fever. They took round 3 of blood today, checking for Mono and some other things I can't recall.
The doctor seems to think that most likely my body is fighting some sort of bacteria or virus, and that it may take 2 or 3 months to work its way out of my system. Until then, I will remain on anti-inflammatories and be limited in my physical abilities. Certainly not the lifestyle I am accustomed to.
In other news, my car felt sorry for me, so it went to the car hospital (repair shop) and racked up a $3,000 engine and bearing repair bill for me this week. Isn't that a sweet show of support and sympathy? I'll be sure to give it a hug when it comes home. And a swift kick in the backside.
Wait. That would probably hurt my foot more than the car...

Shane - I'm still praying for you bro, and I'll keep asking God to heal you. I know it must be frustrating to deal with...I really appreciate your attitude through all of this.
Oh...sorry about your car...the swift kick doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Maybe you could have that big "driller dude" at the entrance to the Fair Grounds take care of that for you.
The waiting game is no fun! Know that we cover you in prayer constantly. I know how much you love advice, so here's a little, don't kick the car; it will indeed hurt you more than it hurts the car! Vanessa loves to tell the story that when I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia and other joint/muscle problems, she thought it was so funny that the old adage that usually preceeds a spanking, "It's going to hurt me more than it hurts you!" was actually true. It stopped being funny when Daddy started giving the spankings because his hurt worse than mine!
Not that this is the same at all, but when I was 12 I was diagnosed with Juvenille RA. Needless to say, I still feel the effect, somedays feeling like I'm 80,but try to always remind myself how lucky I am that it went into remission when I was 19. Hope it says that way! But I'm so glad to hear that you will hopefully make it thru this "fire" in a couple of months rather than RA for a lifetime. Continuing to pray!
I'm still praying, friend! Trust in the Lord; He is your Strength.
I've been really worried about you till I read about your car... now I'm freaking out for you. You paid how much? Was this your new car? Holy Smokes!
Ha -
No, no, not the new car. That would still be under warranty (or lemon laws...). Alice and I have been carpooling all week in the new car, which isn't all bad.
Mine is a 2004 Saturn VUE with about 70,000 miles on it. Still a little premature for these kinds of problems, but just past the 60,000 mile warranty.
And perhaps my body is just past the 30 year warranty, huh?
CC, you know exactly how I feel. I can tell because calling it a "fire" is right on the money...
Thanks to all for your prayers and concern!
Jamie, I'm really liking the idea of the big driller dude giving that swift kick to my car.
Only thing is, I'd be adding some additional body work expense...
Shane – you’re right, better hold off on the swift kick thing…I just got a little carried away.
I hope you’re feeling better today…we’re praying for you.
Here's praying for a big bucket of blessings to put out the fire.
I love you.
P.S. Car trouble is from the devil.
Amen Tammy! Shane, we've got a little stickshift you can borrow if you think you can fold yourself into it! We'll talk tonight at practice ~L~
Hey friend, you're still in my prayers. Sorry to here about your car...hope it all works out. plus, I know you've heard this already, but don't kick the car... =D
I hope you're feeling better today. ~Love you~
You are in my prayers.
Think about it this way, at least your not going to be crucified this year. :-) Or at least I hope not!
Serieously your in my prayers brother!
Not gonna lie shane! That was funny about the car.
Call me sometime and we'll do dinner or something.
-The Pope (Jason)
